Music For Head Bones 2 by Peekaboo StreetSweeper is a warm, lo-fi, adventure for ears and head, through 7 short songs created on vintage analogue equipment and modern gear by Sam Epstein in his home studio. Sam played keys with Atlanta Dub band's KingRat and The Ruination before relocating to Colorado to pursue other cool ventures. This is the second album released of his solo productions. Working alone, in his own world, in the quiet times while his new baby sleeps, Epstein's work develop to a depth and subtlety that was never reached in the context of a group of musicians. There is a certain personality conveyed in this kind of secret journal entry music that seems hard to imagine revealing it's self, ascending above the murmur, the inherent noise floor in of a band format.

This EP is murky and brilliant and the same time, like a shiny sparkling shadow, providing the welcome familiar tones of 90's electronic music but these tones are presented in a song driven format. That being said the song's structures are idiosyncratic, alluvial, pulse in unexpected ways, and at times seem to abruptly end. By boiling his compositions down to short beautiful and thought provoking glimpses of some sort of realm of shadows and imagination, Peekaboo has created a collection of songs, which could be viewed as 7 movements in a large connected piece, or vignettes in a weird and short play, verging on outright magical.
